Ski Pass, Hire & Lessons in the Three Valleys
Helpful advice on everything you'll need
The Three Valleys is a HUGE ski area (the biggest in the world!) and there are several types of passes to choose from that will suit different abilities.
Unless you are a competent skier/boarder then we would advise that you wouldn't necessarily need a Three Valleys lift pass.
It is sometimes easier to buy a pass each day depending upon how you are progressing. There is a beginner pass (covering just 15 lifts) which costs 19 euros per day. There are also lift passes covering St Martin/Les Menuires or St Martin/Les Menuires/Val Thorens which you could choose from before forking out for the full pass.
A full Three Valleys pass isn't cheap but if you look at the number of runs/km piste you get for your money – it is good value.
Here are the facts/prices – it’s easier to follow if you take a look at the piste map.
The ski area is split into three areas:
- Area 1 - Les Menuires/Saint Martin
- Area 2 - Vallee des Belleville (St Martin/Les Menuires/Val Thorens/Orelle)
- Area 3 - 3 Vallees (Full Three Valleys - Courcheval, Meribel, St Martin, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Orelle)
These are the prices for 2010/2011 to help you make your decision (price in euros):

Getting your ski pass in advance online
Les3Vallees offer a system whereby you can purchase your lift pass online and they will post it to you at home so you are ready to go on your first day without queuing in the ski pass office! They also allow you to reload the pass (known as P@S) if you visit the Three Valleys again. All you need to do is follow this link, and bingo!
There are now a few options for ski lessons in St Martin:
ESF - Offer group and private lessons (3yrs upwards) from 1hr - 6 full days. They have 20 qualified bilingual ski instructors and offer lessons in English, Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian.
New Generation (new in St Martin for 2012) - Offer group and private lessons. They are more expensive than ESF however they have English instructors rather than English speaking instructors and we have had great feedback from our guests so far this season.
Ski School - Offer private lessons only. Recommended for more advanced skiers/boarders but take all levels. They have English speaking instructors and offer lessons from 1hr, full day, full week, on-piste, off-piste. They also recommend taking an instructor for the day per party so the parents could have lessons in the morning and children in the afternoon or beginners morning and off-piste group in the afternoon. You can tailor the service to suit your needs.
For more information and prices for each option then take a look at their website. The best way to contact ESF to reserve lessons is by telephone. You can contact New Generation and Ski School by email, however, if you would prefer we emailed on your behalf then just let us know.
If you haven't got your own kit, then we recommend Twinner for ski hire who are based right at the bottom of the ski lift in St Martin.
They offer good quality equipment which is normally not older than two years and can sometimes be new this season - we've had guests hire kit who are taking the wrapping off in the shop!
The staff are both friendly and professional and are all English speaking. They are also happy to deal with any queries once you have hired kit and allow you to change it if you are not happy or would like to try different skis or your boots are uncomfortable. Click here for the price list.
We are also pleased to be able to offer our guests a 20% discount! We are happy to pre-order kit for you - just let us know what you require (boots, skis, board, helmets) and the name, age, height, shoe size and ski level and we'll make sure your kit is ready to collect when you arrive.
